How do I start investing with Sunrise MIC?

To begin investing with Sunrise MIC, our Exempt Market Dealer will assess your qualifications to ensure the investment aligns with your financial status, age, and knowledge. If you qualify, you can choose to invest individually, through a corporation, or via registered plans like a TFSA or RRSP.

What type of mortgages does the MIC invest in?

Sunrise MIC primarily invests in residential mortgage loans within Ontario. Our portfolio includes both 1st and 2nd mortgages. We offer one-year terms, with renewals available at our discretion.

What are the Multiple Investment Options?

You can invest in Sunrise MIC with non-registered funds. Additionally, we accept investments through the following registered plans. Accounts will be set up with Olympic Trust:

  • Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
  • Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
  • Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)
  • Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA)

What is the expected rate of return on my investment?

Anticipated rate of return is estimated to be up to 8.5%

What is the minimum amount I can invest?

The minimum investment amount is $10,000, subject to eligibility.
Investments over $150,000 need an Accredited Investor Certificate.

What is the Investment Term?

We emphasize long-term mortgage investing. We recommend a minimum 5-year investment plan to maximize and secure your dividend returns. For details on redemption rights, please refer to our Offering Memorandum

What is the process for redeeming my investment?

Shareholders can request redemption of any or all outstanding shares
monthly, with 30 days’ advance notice. Shares are subject to early termination
fees if redeemed within the first two years from the subscription date. Please

What are the benefits of our Dividend Re-Investment Plan (DRIP)?

Sunrise MIC offers a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP) to help investors
compound their returns monthly. For example:

  • Without DRIP: $100,000 principal with an 8.5% annual return over 10
    years grows to $185,000.
  • With DRIP: $100,000 principal with an 8.5% annual return over 10 years grows to $233,265.00, adding an extra $48,265.
